Hi, I’m Lauren Montgomery—wife, mom of five, and a lifelong lover of Our Lord and the beauty of our Catholic faith.
Back in 2018, I started The Catholic Commons as a way to share my faith online with anyone craving communion—a space where the good, the true, and the beautiful could be seen, spoken, and shared
I named it The Catholic Commons because I wanted it to feel like a shared table—a place where real people could meet around the riches of the faith, not as experts, but as pilgrims on a journey. A commons isn’t polished or private—it’s open, lived-in, and meant for gathering. That’s what I hope this space will be.
Now, several years later, I’m still writing from the heart of a house that’s full—in every way. Life with little ones is noisy, holy, and full of interruptions, but grace pours out in abundance! I plan to write about prayer at the kitchen table, catechesis in everyday moments, and the Church as a home we grow into together.
I don’t believe faith is something we master and deliver—it’s something we live and share, one conversation at a time.
Whether I’m reflecting on the Rosary, wrestling with a teaching of the Church, or simply trying to see God in the beautiful, wonderful, ordinary parts of my day…my hope is that you’ll feel at home here.
Thanks for stopping by. Let’s keep the conversation going.
